Wishing For Wednesday #71

Another Wednesday, another load of fun reads to look forward to!
First up....I can't even. Meg Cabot is releasing a NEW Mediator book. A NEW MEDIATOR BOOK GUYS! It's an adult one and oh my God, I'm so freaking excited I really can't even. The Mediator is probably my favourite Meg Cabot series and I'm so freaking excited and it sounds SO AWESOME! She says as she still needs to read the latest, brand new Princess Diaries...*whistles*
Second is a book that I'm not sure on the title? It says Unhooked everywhere but then it says The Stars Turned Away on a couple of the covers?! EITHER WAY it sounds brilliant, and I know I'll be picturing Colin O'Donoghue as I'm reading. Seriously.
Let me know your picks in the comments!

Remembrance

Suze Simon—all grown up and engaged to her once-ghostly soulmate—faces a vengeful spirit and an old enemy bent on ending Suze's wedded bliss before it begins.
You can take the boy out of the darkness.
But you can’t take the darkness out of the boy.

All Susannah Simon wants is to make a good impression at her first job since graduating from college (and since becoming engaged to Dr. Jesse de Silva).

But when she’s hired as a guidance counselor at her alma mater, she stumbles across a decade-old murder, and soon ancient history isn’t all that’s coming back to haunt her. Old ghosts as well as new ones are coming out of the woodwork, some to test her, some to vex her, and it isn’t only because she’s a mediator, gifted with second sight.

From a sophomore haunted by the murderous specter of a child, to ghosts of a very different kind—including Paul Slater, Suze’s ex, who shows up to make a bargain Suze is certain must have come from the Devil himself—Suze isn’t sure she’ll make it through the semester, let alone to her wedding night.

Suze is used to striking first and asking questions later. But what happens when ghosts from her past—including one she found nearly impossible to resist—strike first?
What happens when old ghosts come back to haunt you?
If you’re a mediator, you might have to kick a little ass.

Unhooked

For as long as she can remember, Gwendolyn Allister has never had a place to call home. Her mother believes they are being hunted by brutal monsters, and those delusions have brought them to London, far from the life Gwen had finally started to build for herself. Gwen’s only saving grace is that her best friend, Olivia, is with her for the summer.

But shortly after their arrival, the girls are kidnapped by shadowy creatures and dragged to a world of flesh-eating sea hags and dangerous Fey. And Gwen begins to realize that maybe her mother isn’t so crazy after all…

Gwen discovers that this new world she inhabits is called Neverland, but it’s nothing like the Neverland you’ve heard about in stories. Here, good and evil lose their meaning and memories slip like water through your fingers. As Gwen struggles to remember where she came from and tries to find a way home, she must choose between trusting the charming fairy-tale hero who says all the right things and the captivating pirate who promises to keep her safe.

Caught in the ultimate battle between good and evil, with time running out and her enemies closing in, Gwen is forced to finally face the truths she’s been hiding from all along. But can she save Neverland without losing herself?

The Best Books of 2015!

Hey Guys!
With New Years Eve approaching, I thought this was the perfect time to hit you all with the BEST books of 2015, at least according to me! If you disagree or have other books to add, let me know down in the comments! I haven't read every book ever this year, unfortunately, so these are all picked out of the ones that I have read and in NO particular order because I'd be here until next year trying to choose a ranking! They're also all books that where out this year!

1. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
New Bardugo, 'nuff said!

2. Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker
Freaking amazing, the feels, the romance....ugh. Perfection

3. Oblivion by Jennifer L Armentrout
Hello, Daemon's POV, need I say more?!

4. The Masked City by Genevieve Cogman
The completely perfect sequel to The Invisible Library! Original, fun and fantastic!

5. Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch
Man this gave me the feels to another level and then THE ENDING!? Damn. Can't even.

Norse Gods, Rick Riordan, sass and amazingness!

7. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
Yes, two Maas books, but this was FANTASTIC! I loved it 100%, not to mention diving in to another world Maas created and the proof came with a cool mask too!

8. Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray
I waited SO LONG for this guys! SO LONG! It was PERFECT. I badly need the next book cos ya know....Sam and Evie!

9. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
This intrigued me so much going in, and it blew past all my expectations and was freaking fantastic! Another that leaves you wanting more.

10. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas
The wait for this seemed like forever and it was everything I was hoping for and more! Now the wait for the next one *sigh*

11. Girl At Midnight by Melissa Grey
Another debut! This helped me through a really rough time and helped pick me back up again and it was original and fun and it made my week when I was reading it.

12. A Darker Shade of Magic by V E Schwab
MORE, I NEED MORE! I freaking LOVED THIS to another level! I'd wanted to read her book The Archived but actually read this first and completely fell in love with Schwab's writing and this was so original and exciting.

13. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
This was a good year for debut's to be honest! This has firmly lodged itself as one of my favourite new series, I loved Mare, I loved the originality of it and I couldn't stop reading it!

14. The Fire Sermon by Francesca Haig
The proof for this was so freaking awesome it was insane! I loved everything about it, it sucked me in and it gripped me and had me feeling feels!

15. Rogue by Julie Kagawa
The sequel to Talon was freaking perfect, I'm barely coping with the wait for the next book in the series!

I picked 15 because 2015 and I needed some sort of restraint to control myself, a few others that where awesome and deserve a mention
are.... Sin Eater's Daughter, The Potion Dairies, Invasion of The Tearling, Secret Fire, The Return (SEEETHHHHH), A Mad Zombie Party, The Osiris Ritual, Library of Souls, Angel Dares (such a mood lifter!), A Thousand Nights , Reawakened aaaannnnddddddd The Hunter's Kind! All of these are either debut's or next in series and each and everyone is perfection, and knowing me as you should by now, they're all original or having something different about them! You see why I had to restrain myself! What where your best books of 2015?!

2016 Classics Challenge

Hey guys!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to New Years!?!
I've been a bit quiet on here since Christmas, I do have some posts scheduled but not a tonne! This is just a quick post to chat to you all about the 2016 Classics Challenge!

I have a lot of classics, I kind of collect them in different editions even though I haven't actually read most of them! There's a few I've read, but not really enough and for the past few months I've been meaning to read one a month and I've failed epically!

Then I discovered via Twitter that the lovely Stacey at The Pretty Books actually runs a Classics Challenge basically doing what I've been trying to do! So I thought I'd jump on board the challenge because by doing this Challenge and tweeting and instagramming and blogging about it means that I'll actually do it because all of you will call me out on it if I don't! I'll have some accountability for it basically! I'm incredibly indecisive though so Lord knows how I'm going to pick one each month!

What I'll Be Reading

Like I said...I have A LOT of classics, I'm not sure exactly which ones I'm going to read yet, but there's a couple I definitely want to get to!

Pride and Prejudice

This has been on my shelf forever and I have like....three or four editions of it, and I kinda started reading the first chapter ages ago and so I should probably ya know...finish it!

Wuthering Heights

Again, this has been on my list for ages, I only have two copies of this, I'm thinking I may read this in January because the cover of one of mine fits with the miserable vibe the weather is giving off most of the time!

Jane Eyre

This would actually be a re-read to be honest! I read it back in GCSE's and I've been wanting to read it again!

Dracula

Another re-read, I haven't read this book in years and it's definitely my favourite, or at least one of my favourites! I'd probably read this around October but then I might read Frankenstein instead or try to read both, we'll see!

Charles Dickens

I have many, many Dickens books, and I really want to read at least one this year! I was going to read A Christmas Carol in December but I completely had no time I swear! I haven't decided which Dickens book I'll try to read, so if you have a favourite Dickens book let me know!

Modern Classics

I'm talking Nineteen Eighty-Four, Catcher in the Rye and To Kill a Mockingbird. Yes, I can hear your gasps of shock, please don't shun me! I'll hopefully read all or one or two!

Sherlock Holmes

My Dad's obsessed with Sherlock, and I have been known to watch episodes without complaining copious amounts so I think I'll make an effort to try to read a Holmes book!

Those are my "I really need to read these before everyone discovers I'm a shame to the book community" books, I have quite a nice stack of English Library classics as well as Word Cloud and Barnes and Noble, and these aren't all of them obviously, out of the others I have no idea what I'll read, I'll probably choose each month or pick a couple and have you guys vote on Twitter because like I said...I'm indecisive!

December Book Haul

Hey guys! Merry Christmas Eve!
I very rarely do Book Hauls, I usually just chuck it all in with my wrap up, but things got a bit out of control this month! There's the dregs that arrived that I ordered from Black Friday and then there's the books I got really cheap, like half price and then there's more books that I got because I was having a rubbish day and I'm still waiting for other books to arrive and I didn't want my wrap up to be a million miles long SO Book Haul time!

Yes. As you can see the book buying ban worked out fabulously. Oops? I can't resist pretty books, you all know I can't!
